Breast Reduction
Reduction mammoplasty is a procedure designed to reshape and reposition the breast tissue (skin, fat, and nipple) to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing shape while reducing the overall size of the breasts. Typically, this surgery is performed on patients with excessive breast volume, which can lead to discomfort such as back pain, skin infections, or dissatisfaction with the breast's appearance.
Type of anesthesia: epidural block and sedation | Duration: 2-3 hours

The incision
The primary technique for breast reduction typically results in an anchor or inverted T-shaped scar, providing a more aesthetically pleasing final outcome.
Prior evaluation
An assessment will be necessary to determine whether a simple reduction or a reduction with an implant is the most suitable procedure for your case, ensuring the best possible decision is made.
Recovery Journey
-
Recovery time: 1-2 weeks
-
Sutures are removed after 7 days.
-
A special compression bra should be worn throughout the day for at least 4 weeks following surgery to provide support, minimize discomfort, reduce the risk of bleeding, and control inflammation.
-
It is recommended to avoid lifting objects heavier than 10 pounds for at least 3 weeks, as well as to refrain from raising the arms above shoulder height, in order to prevent shifting of the implant and maintain proper shape, if an implant is used.
-
For 6 weeks post-surgery, strenuous exercises that stress the pectoral muscles (such as push-ups, weightlifting, and certain back exercises) should be avoided to prevent internal scarring from tearing, bruising, implant displacement, or internal bleeding, if an implant is used.
-
After one month, normal activities can be resumed gradually.
-
The final results are typically visible between 3 to 6 months, though changes in shape can be seen immediately after the procedure.
