Torsoplasty
Torsoplasty, or back lift surgery, is a procedure designed to remove excess skin from the upper back. In patients who have experienced significant weight loss, this area is often difficult to improve with liposuction alone.
Type of anesthesia: epidural block and sedation | Duration: 1-2 hours

Why torsoplasty
In some patients who have lost a significant amount of weight, the skin on the upper back may not retract properly, resulting in persistent folds that are challenging to eliminate without surgery. In such cases, this procedure can be performed alone or combined with other treatments to enhance the appearance of the upper back
Incision
The procedure involves an incision across the upper back, extending from one side to the other. When possible, the scar can be strategically placed to be concealed by underwear or swimwear.
Recovery Journey
-
Recovery time: 1-2 weeks
-
In some cases, drains are placed and removed once fluid output decreases to 30 ml per day or less.
-
It is recommended to avoid strenuous activities and exercise for at least 2-3 weeks to prevent wound complications.
-
While the final results become fully visible within 2 to 3 months, significant improvements can be noticed immediately after surgery.
-
Proper scar care is essential to ensure optimal healing—protect them from sun exposure, friction, and irritation by using sunscreen daily.
-
Maintaining a healthy diet after surgery is important, as excessive weight gain may diminish or obscure the results.
-
Compression garments should be worn continuously for at least 4 weeks, except when showering.
