Tummy Tuck
Abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin from the abdominal area, commonly in patients who experience loose or sagging skin following significant weight loss or multiple pregnancies.
Type of anesthesia: Epidural block and sedation | Procedure duration: 3 hours

Tummy tuck + liposculpture
During this surgery, it is also possible to repair small hernias and abdominal muscle weakness, which are often the reasons the abdomen doesn’t appear flat. However, this procedure is not intended to enhance body contour— that is achieved through liposculpture. If your goal is not only to remove excess skin but also to improve your shape and eliminate localized fat, both procedures can be performed together but it depends on the individual’s desired outcome.
Lifting areas
Incision considerations
The procedure involves a smile-shaped incision in the lower abdomen, which can also be concealed with underwear or even a two-piece swimsuit. The length and scope of the incision depend on the amount of excess skin to be removed. In some cases, the incision is limited to the lower abdomen, while in others it may extend toward the back or even completely around the body.
Upper abdomen skin remove
In some cases, in addition to treating the abdomen, we can also lift areas like the outer thighs, pubic region, and buttocks, particularly when these areas have become saggy, which is common after significant weight loss.
In certain patients with excess skin in the upper abdomen, it may be necessary to remove the extra skin below the breasts, placing the scar discreetly in the natural crease between the bust and abdomen, where it can be easily hidden by underwear.
Recovery Journey
-
Recovery time 2-3 weeks
-
Most of the sutures used are absorbable, so they do not need to be removed as the body naturally dissolves them.
-
In many cases, drains are placed to help remove fluid and are typically taken out once the output drops below 30 ml per day.
-
To ensure optimal abdominal recovery, it's recommended to avoid exercises that engage the abdominal muscles for 2 to 3 months.
-
While a noticeable improvement is visible right after surgery, the final results generally become evident within 2 to 3 months. If liposuction is performed at the same time, the full results may take a bit longer to appear.
-
Maintaining a healthy diet after surgery is essential, as significant weight gain can diminish the outcome or make the results less noticeable.
