Liposuction

Liposuction is a surgical procedure designed to sculpt the body and enhance its contours. While some may believe that liposuction is primarily for weight loss, its main goal is body reshaping. However, depending on the amount of fat removed, some weight loss may occur as a secondary benefit.

The procedure is carried out through small incisions, typically 3-5 mm in size, strategically placed in discreet areas to ensure they remain well-hidden under clothing. These incisions serve as entry points for fat removal through suction.

Optimal results are typically achieved in patients who maintain a fit lifestyle and exercise regularly.

Body contour

Liposuction is recommended for Individuals with a significant amount of fat who seek to reduce volume, enhance body contours, and utilize the extracted fat for augmentation in other areas.

Abdominal definition

This procedure is also ideal for patients with moderate to minimal fat who desire abdominal definition (soft definition), emphasizing the vertical lines of the abdomen while also having the option to transfer fat to areas such as the buttocks or hips.

Six pack

Individuals with low body fat who aim for high-definition (HD) abdominal sculpting, including the enhancement of the "six-pack" and other areas like the arms or thighs are also encouraged to opt for liposuction.

Liposuction in men

In men, fat can also be strategically injected into the shoulders (deltoids) and chest (pectorals) to create a more athletic appearance. Optimal results are typically achieved in patients who maintain a fit lifestyle and exercise regularly.

Lipo + skin removal

When the skin is significantly loose, liposuction often needs to be combined with surgical excision or skin removal to achieve optimal results. In cases where the skin has mild laxity or when a more toned appearance is desired, non-surgical alternatives such as radiofrequency (VASER) or plasma technology (J-Plasma) can be used to enhance skin tightening.

Safety limits

When fat is aspirated, some blood is also removed in the process. However, to minimize the risk of complications due to blood loss, we implement severa safety measures. These include adhering to a maximum fat removal limit per procedure and using adrenaline to reduce bleeding, among other precautions.

Recovery Journey

  • Recover time: 1-2 weeks

  • Stitches are typically removed within 5 to 7 days.

  • For patients undergoing abdominal or lower back liposuction, drains are placed and removed once fluid output decreases to 30 ml per day or less.

  • Swelling is most pronounced during the first 5 to 7 days post-surgery, may persist for another 1 to 2 weeks, and then gradually subsides.

  • Lymphatic drainage massages can significantly reduce swelling and enhance results more quickly, though they can be uncomfortable. This can be discussed further during your consultation.

  • During the recovery phase, it is important to avoid sun exposure while inflammation is present to prevent skin discoloration.

  • Although initial changes in body shape can be noticed as early as the second or third week, the final results typically take between 6 and 12 months to fully develop.

  • Maintaining a balanced diet after surgery is crucial, as excessive weight gain can diminish or obscure the results.

  • Compression garments should be worn 24 hours a day for a minimum of 4 weeks, except when showering.
